The Daiwa Tanacom U 1000 is a workhorse and will catch you Blue Eye Cod and all deepwater species with no issues. The Daiwa Tanacom U combo set up with the Daiwa Beefstick Deep Drop Rod will last and is built tough. The Daiwa Beefstick Deep Drop Rod is a strong reliable rod and will be more than enough for all you deep dropping needs. As you don’t hold the rod when deep-dropping, the rods weight is of no consequence as long as the combo has the power to lift the fish from the bottom. The combo comes spooled with Daiwa J Braid X4 that is a strong durable braid that will outlast many others and being a 4 carrier braid it has a very high abrasion resistance.
