Daiwa Light Kingfish and Snapper Combo

This is a great summer combo when the small Kings are in close. The Daiwa Saltwater 20 TD SALTWATER S71-2 has a slow taper so will bend right over when you lock it up making for a sporting fight on the rats and doubling as a nice snapper rod. The length is 7’1” so it is still a good rod for land based harbour and breakwall fishing. This versatile combo is suitable for all types of fishing for fish such as Kingfish, Snapper, Jewfish, and big Flathead. Whether throwing large soft plastics, hard body lures, or doing some light bait fishing, this combo can do it all. The Daiwa Aird LT 6000 is a very light yet strong little reel equipped with 12kg of drag. The rod is the Daiwa TD SALTWATER S71-2 and rated to 20lb and will cast 10-28g lures. It has a perfect action in the tip for casting and working lures, and heaps of power down low for fighting big fish. The reel comes spooled with Daiwa J Braid x4 20lb Yellow 300yds which is a super strong and abrasion-resistant line which is ideal when fishing for kingfish, snapper, and jewfish around heavy structure.

DAIWA 20 TD SALTWATER SPINNING CASTING FISHING ROD

Team Daiwa makes its debut into heavy-tackle saltwater rods with TD Saltwater. A newly developed series to accommodate the demand for high-quality and affordable saltwater rods.

The heart of TD Saltwater begins with Daiwa’s BRAIDING-X graphite technology, a graphite tape which is applied to the butt section of the blank. Wrapping in this style adds a level of stiffness and rigidity to the overall blank construction without the added weight and diameter of a whole extra layer of the HSD graphite cloth.

BRAIDING-X is used for the bottom half of the blank’s construction, delivering improved lifting power and ultimately higher strength.

TD Saltwater’s actions are tried and tested around the country, featuring jigging and boat-fishing specific models, a number of actions for fishing lures and soft plastics on reefs chasing snapper and pelagic species, and new actions specially designed for the growth in TaiRubber fishing, using lures like Daiwa’s KOHGA to chase Snapper and other bottom-dwelling reef species.
