This combo is not a distance casting combo but one for close quarters where a shorter rods acuracy comes into play. The TD Black Mangrove Masher rod is 6’4” and perfect for lightly weighted plastics up to 3/4oz / 21g jig heads, but is not to heavy so will still be able to throw unweighted weedless plastics right up into the Mangroves and will work deeper holes and banks with the 3/4oz weights. The reel is the Daiwa Aird 4000 LT a light weight great value for money reel that wont let you down. We chose Daiwa X8 for the Braid as it is a good casting and abrasion resistant line.

A new Air Sensor reel seat is 40% lighter than a traditional reel seat design and helps maintain a balanced overall setup when paired with a correctly matched reel. On spinning models, it has been incorporated low down on the handle, to provide a secure grip on two-handed casts.
